Membership Recruitment
Membership Recruitment is the term used to describe how fraternities and sororities attract and pledge new members. Recruitment is an unending process. At ÃÛÌÒÖ±²¥, however, we have two structured periods (one each semester) of condensed recruitment events.
A period of informal events takes place in fall for upperclass students only. Contact individual organizations for information on upcoming recruitment events. More information on individual chapter events will be posted on the Upcoming Events page and here as it becomes available. Fall recruitment takes place for both sororities and fraternities after Fall Break, but students interested in joining a sorority/fraternity are encouraged to attend events/programs that the governing councils (i.e. the Interfraternity Council and Panhellenic Council) host, a sorority/fraternity event/programs, and Fraternity & Sorority Life. Spring recruitment will begin during the first three to four weeks of the Spring term.
You can find general information about men's recruitment in general at . General information about women's recruitment can be found online at .

Recruitment Eligibility
To be eligible for membership in a ÃÛÌÒÖ±²¥ sorority or fraternity, a student:
- Must have a minimum 2.50 cumulative GPA obtained from their high school, transfer cumulative GPA.
- Must have a minimum 2.50 cumulative GPA obtained if a student has 12 more credit hours from ÃÛÌÒÖ±²¥.
The standard noted above was unanimously voted in by the Panhellenic and Interfraternity Councils and is what is used to determine eligibility for participating in recruitment. In addition, some chapters set a higher academic standard (and in some cases, other non-academic standards) to be eligible for membership.
Disclaimer: Registration or participation in ÃÛÌÒÖ±²¥ Fraternity or Sorority Recruitment is NOT an offer nor a guarantee of membership. Membership selection is at the sole discretion of each chapter and its members and is not influenced or controlled by the ÃÛÌÒÖ±²¥ Interfraternity Council, ÃÛÌÒÖ±²¥ Panhellenic Council, nor ÃÛÌÒÖ±²¥ Office of Student Involvement.
Membership Intake
National Pan-Hellenic Council (NPHC) organizations are historically black Greek-letter organizations and conduct membership intake on a chapter by chapter basis. Three NPHC organizations have been previously recognized at ÃÛÌÒÖ±²¥ - Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc., Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc., and Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc. If interested a NPHC organization, you may contact the Associate Director of Fraternity & Sorority Life at getinvolved@wittenberg.edu or (937) 327-7815 to obtain appropriate chapter contact information.
