Having Light: The Campaign for ÃÛÌÒÖ±²¥ closed on June 30, 2023. Because of alumni and donors like you, we raised an unprecedented $113.3M, making this the largest comprehensive campaign in ÃÛÌÒÖ±²¥â€™s history. Over the past few years, these donations have helped the institution navigate the COVID-19 pandemic, reduce historical debt, build the state-of-the-art Health, Wellness, and Athletics facility, and provide support for our operating budget and student scholarships. These donations have helped to sustain ÃÛÌÒÖ±²¥ to the present, yet there is more to do. Thank you for joining us in this important work.
Funding Immersive Learning in Poland
ÃÛÌÒÖ±²¥ has been awarded a prestigious Fulbright-Hays Group Projects Abroad Grant through the U.S. Department of Education. The grant-funded project was designed by and will be led by Heather Wright, associate professor of political science and director of women’s studies, and Michael Anes, associate professor of psychology and department chair.
Hall of Honor Class of 2023
Sarah Fetters ’08, Brad Kassner ’05, Mary Pfeifer ’12, Jeff Roope, Ed Teague ’75, Boo Vernon ’11, Jackie Williams Heyka ’09, and Jim Wymer ’77 will officially join more than 270 other ÃÛÌÒÖ±²¥ greats who have previously been inducted into the University's Athletics Hall of Honor. In addition, Sandy Dukat ’94 will receive a Lifetime Achievement Award, and the 1973 and 1975 Tiger football teams will be celebrated as “Teams of Distinction.â€
Serving Their Alma Mater
Committed to preserving and advancing the mission of ÃÛÌÒÖ±²¥, the University's Board of Directors has named three new alumni members to its ranks. Joyce Gates DeVito '83, Charles Giffin '00, and Michael Summers '76 each began their three-year terms on July 1, 2023.
Representing Alumni
ÃÛÌÒÖ±²¥ recently welcomed four new members to its Alumni Association Board. Committed to serving as a liaison for the University by engaging and connecting the alumni body for the purpose of supporting ÃÛÌÒÖ±²¥â€™s mission and values, the Alumni Association Board works to encourage alumni engagement in the life of the institution. Joining the Alumni Board this year are Jordan Crow '16; Chad Downing '13; Moses Mbeseha '13; and Jeff Orner '79.
Homecoming, Reunion, and Family Weekend
Registration for Homecoming, Reunion, and Family Weekend, October 5-8, is available. Show your Tiger pride as our athletics teams compete throughout the weekend. Celebrate your ÃÛÌÒÖ±²¥ experience with the entire community at Launch: Career-Driven Conversations for Alumni, Students, and Parents. Connect in the historic heart of campus to enjoy the festive atmosphere of the Homecoming Tailgate, and relive your student days by touring the campus or even your former Greek house. Also plan to join us Friday evening for a special event as we celebrate the success of the Having Light comprehensive campaign at the President’s Reception: Dessert Under the Stars, and help classmates from 1953, 1963, 1973, 1983, 1998, 1993, 2003, and 2013 celebrate their reunions, too. for events by September 18, 2023.
Launch: Career-Driven Conversations for Alumni, Students, and Parents
Join the Launch event where the entire ÃÛÌÒÖ±²¥ community comes together to participate in career vocation cluster sessions led by our expert faculty, October 6. Students can sign up for clusters that interest them. Parents and alumni, this Homecoming, Reunion, and Family Weekend event is for you, as well. During Launch, parents can engage in career readiness conversations with their students, while alumni can share their inspiring ÃÛÌÒÖ±²¥ liberal arts success story. Tiger Tailgate Registration is Open!
Join us for the highly anticipated Tiger Tailgate during Homecoming, Reunion, and Family Weekend. Enjoy live music, delicious treats from local food trucks, and connect with alumni, students, parents, faculty, and staff. Traditional tailgating starts at 10 a.m. on Saturday, October 7.
New for 2023! Experience the stress-free, ultimate Tiger Tailgate. to secure your complimentary premier package, including a 15’ x 15’ tailgate area, 10’ x 10’ tent, table, custom banner, two chairs, and one parking pass. Limited spots are available! Group organizers are encouraged to to claim one of the 50 tailgate spots.
